hey. firstly, a huge thanks to anyone and everyone who helped us or came to see us on our tour. we all had amazing fun meeting people and playing around the uk, it wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for all the people that gave us floors to sleep on, put on the shows, fed us, came to the shows, gave up their time for us, and far from least - if it wasn't for mat driving us around in his beast of a van. you're our heroes.

this site has been pretty neglected lately, mostly because my pc has been out of action for the past few months. i have a load of photographs from our tour and other shows which will go online sometime soon! our self-titled 7" on forever escaping boredom records is nearly ready and should be out in the next few weeks. the artwork has been designed by chris hadzipetros and you can check it out in his portfolio at his website here. it will have some nice inserts with it too.

we've just got some t-shirts made, they come in green as shown in the picture below, or light blue. we have them in YS, YM, YL, S, M and L sizes. all the youth sizes are blue. they cost £8 each and if you would like one, send us an email and we'll see if we have the size you want.

finally, we are playing with life at these speeds, science of yabra, we are corpses and the north cross at the phoenix in manchester on september 15th. we are trying to get a show sorted in the shrewsbury area around that date too but it's not certain yet.

take care!

we are playing a show in birmingham this coming sunday (april 17th) with transistor transistor, f*ck u is my name, and what price, wonderland?. there is a flyer for this here. if you live nearby, come! =)

we're writing new songs at the moment and, hopefully before the end of the month, recording all our new songs since our line up change, plus re-recording hurting the truth and emo gymnastics from the demo cd-r. we will then be having a break until late june/july after we've finished our exams, then hopefully doing a small tour around the UK, starting around the 11th of july. we're also hoping to do a small tour in september before we have to split up to go our seperate ways to uni, and play as many shows as possible in between. if you might be able to help us out with shows, transportation, a floor to sleep on, anything, then please get in touch!

in other news, the emo armageddon compilation 7" is out now on react with protest records, which features our song 'a message of dissent', and loads of 30 second long tracks by bands such as la quiete, shikari and louise cyphre. definitely worth picking up if you are into that sort of thing! check the distros on our links page for info on how to get hold of a copy.

take care,

the morda gig on the 5th of february is now cancelled. we have a gig at the haygate in wellington (telford) on saturday with whenbulletsfail and the abner. doors are at 7:30, entry is free! we're also looking to arrange a new reading show in the near future, more info will be posted here when we have it.

we have written three new songs and they're sounding really good. we hopefully shall be recording again in the next few months.

we've got some demos made, so if you would like one, send us an email and we'll sort it out. =)

unfortunately we have had to pull out of the reading gig on friday 4th feb due to something which we can't help, needless to say we're pretty gutted about that. huge apologies to anyone we have let down in any way there!

demos are taking a while to get sorted due to time and money restrictions, but we're slowly getting them done - if you have asked for one you will get one! if you would like a demo then get in touch. =)

our next gig is at morda village hall on saturday feb 5th. it'll be our first gig in a while due to exams, if all goes well we should have a few new songs to play! we are also hopefully playing another gig in shrewsbury in february, we'll post information about that when everything is confirmed.

take care,

we recently finished recording and mixing our four song demo the other week. we're extremely proud of it and we will let you know how you can get your hands on a copy soon. you can stream and download two tracks from it on purevolume and you should also add us on My Space

there are also plans for our demo to be distributed across north america by a very nice chap called greg from montreal, more news to come on that one but we're very excited.

we are also appearing on a 12" compilation lp called emo armageddon to be released on react with protest records other bands appearing on the compilation include la quiete, shikari, apoplexy twist orchestra, mock heroic, what price, wonderland? and various other amazing european screamo bands.

a split 7" with our good friends what price, wonderland? is in the pipeline and we are looking for it to be released in spring 2005, although it'll probably be a lot later than that.

our next gig is on saturday at the albert in shrewsbury, and possibly another on tuesday at bradys as a kind of last minute christmas celebration thing. then we will probably be taking a break to write new material etc and relax around exam times. however if you have any offers of gigs etc or are in a band and would like to play some shows in shrewsbury with us please get in touch.

it'd be really great if you could tell us what you think of the tracks, any feedback is appreciated.

So we have a gig at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College this friday, and it's fancy dress as far as I've heard, so if you can get an SSFC student to buy you a ticket then come and watch us as we play some newer songs and have some fun. It'll cost £2 and other bands include Landslide, Four Star Romance, Left Of Hope, Crimson Covered Daisies and The Juveniles. It'll be held in the main hall.

Hopefully see you there.

on friday we found out that there's a live review of our first gig in play dead zine issue 12, which is awesome news! the review focuses mainly on our set, and it's pretty good. =)

to find out where to get a copy of the zine for yourself, look in the faq's section on the play dead zine site.

we had our first practise in over a month last night, it went extremely well although we almost killed each other. we managed to write a new song (although it took four hours) and should hopefully be debuting some new material on the 29th. moses eats cheese unfortunately cannot play this gig and have been replaced by survival of the fittest.

we will be recording our demo tape in the near future as well. there will be three songs on it: hurting the truth, watch me push the boat out and running from your shadow.

our friends in snowman released their 7" the other week, click here for more information. it's an awesome release.

So we have two new gigs lined up...

15th October:
Tashas' Birthday Bash - The Albert (hopefully) - Four*Romance, Indigo, Left Of Hope and us. This one isn't definite as of yet, but if it happens, it's invite only, so be nice to Tasha and maybe we'll see you there.

Also...

29th October:
The Albert in Shrewsbury - Moses Eats Cheese, Snowman, us and more TBA

In other news, recording has been delayed a bit for various reasons, but we haven't forgotten about it, and we should be recording mid-October.

We are yossarianisdrowning; a five piece emotional diy hardcore band from Shropshire.

This site was intended to go online before we played a gig, but we've now played two, so apologies for not getting it sorted until now. Both the Brady's and Bomere gigs were good fun, so thanks to everyone who turned up to either of them and pointed their cameras at us, nodded their heads with sympathy, thought we were 'just noise', or genuinely liked what we had to offer.

We shall be playing more gigs in the near future (keep checking the gigs page for more info), and we should also be recording a small demo tape sometime in the very near future. We should have some ready to sell for a small price sometime in October.

For now, if you want to hear us, but can't make the trek to one of our gigs, check out our hxcmp3 page, which has some [poor quality] live recordings on it.

Keep checking back for more news updates.

Any comments or questions, email us: yossarianisdrowning@hotmail.com. Thanks!
